Post-Jam Update


Hello everyone! I’ve been working on some updates for BLASTOFF!!! after its initial release last week - the changes have mostly entailed fixing some nasty bugs that slipped through, plus some base optimization and control issues.

However, the reason for this post is what comes next: I’ve started work on the content update, which will include (among other things):

  • Character dialogue
  • Environment details
  • Visual effect shape, frequency and intensity
  • The game’s name (!)

Most of the stuff I’m adding are things that I had thought of during development but couldn’t feasibly do within the jam’s timeframe: the ship will look less empty, there will be more things (and characters) to interact with, visual effects will fade in and out in more interesting ways, etc. The main story will remain the same so don’t expect a radically different ending, but it will be a bit more fleshed out.

It would definitely merit a replay if you’ve already played BLASTOFF!!! in its current state 😜 so stay tuned for the next update, and thanks for playing!

Finally, a more general update: I’ve been going through some personal / work related stuff during the past few months that has made me leave some loose ends with previous games. BLASTOFF!!! was a good way to quickly get myself back in gear, but for anyone that’s interested, after this update is done I will be going back to previous games, starting with the final update for La Maldición del Cruce that will include the english localization, among other bells and whistles. Stay tuned for that as well!
